Midstate Electric
 Scholarship Application

Midstate Electric Cooperative (MEC) has scholarships available for high school seniors seeking to continue their education. When the scholarship is awarded, the recipient will have a 4-year scholarship equaling $10,000 (Year 1: $1,500; Year 2: $2,000; Year 3: $2,500; Year 4: $4,000). Scholarships are available to seniors who will graduate from La Pine, Gilchrist, and North Lake County High School, as well as high schools located in Klamath, Lake, and Deschutes Counties (including home school).

Requirements:

  • Scholastic - Applicant must meet the entrance requirements of the elected school before applying for MEC's scholarship.
  • Residence - The primary residence of the parent or guardian of the applicant must be in MEC's service area.
  • College/Trade School - Any accredited college/trade school is acceptable to qualify for MEC's scholarship.
  • Qualifying Activities - To include, but not be limited to scholastic achievement, future goals, school activities, community activities and application presentation.
  • Application Presentation – Application and attached documentation are neat, typed and grammatically correct.
  • Award - Scholarship awards will be sent directly to the college/trade school on behalf of the recipient. Funds must be used for tuition, books, and curriculum-related expenses. If the scholarship recipient terminates the program of study prior to the end of the funding period, the college/trade school will refund the remaining unused portion of the scholarship to MEC’s scholarship fund.
  • Duration - MEC scholarship recipients will either receive their scholarship in 4 allotments: Year 1: $1,500; Year 2: $2,000; Year 3: $2,500; Year 4: $4,000 (equaling $10,000).
  • Applicant Photo - Please attach a professional headshot or school photo (taken from the shoulders up).

Applicants should carefully review and fill out each step of the online application. 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • This online application form is intended to guide an applicant step-by-step through the application process.
  • The form requires the applicant to complete each step before moving to the next. However, applicants will be able to go back to previous steps. The application form requires ALL form fields be completed and any documents uploaded before the final application can be submitted.
