Midstate Electric (MEC), held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the City of La Pine Transit Center on September 3, 2024. La Pine City Manager Geoff Wullschlager and employees of MEC were in attendance to celebrate the official opening of the town’s first Level 3 electric vehicle (EV) charger.

“Today’s ribbon cutting marks a pivotal step in connecting rural Oregon to the future of transportation. By introducing a Level 3 charger in this community, we’re not just expanding infrastructure; we’re ensuring that the promise of electric vehicles reaches every corner of our state. This investment bridges gaps, supports local economies, and paves the way for a cleaner, more sustainable future for all Oregonians,” said Jim Anderson, CEO General Manager of Midstate Electric.

MEC has plans to install additional chargers throughout our service area, including Highways 31, 58, & 97.
